Diane’s love for accounting began at a young age while working at her father’s Boca Raton CPA firm. After growing up in Boca, she attended Florida Southern College and transferred as a junior to the University of Texas at Austin. Diane graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting Degree in 1978 and Masters in Professional Accounting Degree in 1980 from the University of Texas at Austin, and joined the international firm of Ernst & Whinney for several years. She passed the CPA exam in 1980. At Ernst & Whinney, her focus was audit and financial statements, and she was cross trained on tax for real estate and manufacturing clients. Subsequently, she worked as a controller for a large real estate developer in Austin, Texas for many years.
Soon after returning to Florida in 1984 and settling in Winter Park, Diane and her husband, Paul Micocci, opened and operated their practice of Homrich & Micocci, P.A., CPAs for 27 years. She has extensive experience in the areas of real estate, construction, the professional service industry, retail business, manufacturing accounting and tax work. Diane and staff joined the firm of Baker, Hyatt & Homrich, P.A. in July 2011.
Diane is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has extensive experience in real estate, construction related industries, professional services including medical, engineering and legal firms, small business consulting, and manufacturing accounting and tax work.
Committed to making a difference, Diane has been a very active member and volunteer in her church and community. She has enjoyed serving First United Methodist Church of Winter Park as Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Finance Committee, Member of the Celebration Handbell Choir, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and volunteer for many children activities and programs. While their children were growing up, Diane and Paul served as PTA presidents, officers and active members in the school organizations from elementary through high school years. Diane has participated in many ministry activities including mission teams.
